Help Australian communities thrive: Donate to The Resilience Canopy now
As Australia's exposure to natural hazards grows, so too does the urgency to invest in community resilience in the right places and in the right ways. The CDRRI helps make this possible.
Unlike many existing approaches that look at hazards or vulnerability separately, the Community Disaster Risk and Resilience Index (CDRRI) is the first publicly available, easily accessible Australian index to combine hazard exposure and community resilience at the SA2 level.
NB. The CDRRI is currently a Queensland-only pilot.

By transforming complex data into accessible insights on a user-friendly dashboard, the index identifies where need is greatest, where foundations for change already exist, and where investment will have the most lasting impact. This can help corporate funders, philanthropy, and government make more informed decisions.
It can also help communities better understand their vulnerabilities and strengths, and where to focus their community-led initiatives. It is not designed to replace local knowledge or formal risk assessments, but to complement the process.
