What You Bring as a Host
Your primary contribution is local knowledge, and connections.
With your support, we co-design a process to identify potential community leaders and members to take part in the community-led journey. *
A range of financial options are available to help embed the community-led process and training locally — including options to cover participant attendance costs, ensuring it’s accessible to those who need it most.*
There are also opportunities to extend your support to create even greater impact and outcomes for your community.
Once the training is complete, your involvement can be as light touch or as engaged as you choose. We don’t walk away! We continue to support both the practitioners and the wider community as they begin to apply the Six-Step model.
As a host, you’ll:
- Assess Readiness: Work with us to identify the best fit and timing for your community.
- Provide a Venue: Organise a suitable space for the in-person sessions, along with catering.
- Promote Locally: Use your networks to recruit participants and create buzz amongst stakeholders and community.
There are other ways to extend support such as:
- Fund additional training spots for interested participants that might not meet our sponsored spots criteria. *
- Contribute to the Canopy’s Activation Grants pool to fund implementation projects that drive resilience in your area of focus.
- Assign staff to work alongside communities, helping sustain participation in the program while offering valuable staff development opportunities.
- Facilitate connections with partners to deliver on community priorities.
- Design a tailored training program that meets the unique needs of your community.

- Pre-Briefing: Online session for stakeholders and potential participants to build awareness.
- Registration Administration: End-to-end participant registration handled by us.

- Expert-Led Sessions: Delivered by two experienced facilitators.
- Participant Toolkit: Comprehensive digital handbook and resources.
- Ongoing Support: Mentoring and coaching for trained practitioners through the Canopy Collective.

Along with the sector-specific price points to do the training, we offer discounted rates for community members, non-profit and Council staff, along with fully sponsored positions for community members who commit to applying the Six-Step Model to communities within eligible Local Government Areas, ensuring training is accessible to those likely to apply it where it’s needed most.
